Description
This Mikuni RS40 carburetor Kit will breathe a whole new lease of life into your Triumph America, Bonneville, Scrambler 900, Speedmaster and Thruxton 900 twins with an up to 25% increase in power, whilst making it perform and operate as it should with no hesitations or flat spots.
You will very quickly realize that the expense of a rebuild of your old worn OEM carbs can far exceed the cost of these new units and unfortunately as with many rebuilds now days you only have the option in many cases of gambling with very poor quality aftermarket parts. Considering this and if intending to ride and enjoy your motorcycle for years to come, it makes good sense to retire your OEM carbs into the cupboard and step up to a set of RS’s, the improvement will be very impressive.
Before rushing in and ordering please firstly check your carb spacing and carbie sizes for compatibility.
This Mikuni kit comes with a 133mm carb throat centre to centre spacing between carb 1 & 2 for direct fitment to Triumph 790cc and 865cc twin models and at a 100mm back to front total length will adapt to the stock air-box (55mm dia.) , engine inlet rubbers (42mm) and throttle cables.
These carbs are supplied with jetting to suit your Triumph and will rarely need further tuning other than with the supplied two spare sets of mains for WOT testing for confirming correct tune. Simply bolt them on and hold on. The fitment of a performance clutch and spring kit is often required to keep up with the new found power. Removal of the sensor on the earlier models has no effect on performance or operation.
Your stock throttle cables will on most models connect to these carbs (note in the picture how the OEM cables must be laid over to the center and then pass up over the RH side of the rocker box), where we also have available in the RS accessories page either our road bike throttle and cable assembly (KRS-001) or a Quick action 1/4 turn throttle and cable kit (PPQA40K). If you undo the four 8 mm bolts inside the battery box, this allows the whole airbox to be moved back enough for an easy install.
You can also buy separately either POD filters or Velocity stacks for racing, which have no form of filter in them (15, 30,50 and 75mm long).
All international buyers are responsible for the payment of their domestic customs duties and taxes charged on imported goods. The duty free threshold and duty/taxes payable rates differ from one country to another and we strongly advise you check your liability before ordering if unsure. Please check your tracking on all international shipments within 7 days to follow their progress and determine if it is being held by your local customs dept. or on their behalf by the Postal Service, who you will need to make contact with using the provided tracking number.
Please Note: Other than exact replacement OEM carburetors, all Mikuni Aftermarket Carburetors and Tuning Components are sold “As Is” for Off Road / Racing Use Only and are not intended or approved for use on vehicles operated on Public Roads or in locations where applicable engine tampering and anti-pollution laws apply.

Hi,
I would like to say thank you for not only the purchase process, but also to the research and development put into these carbies for the Triumph twins.
I have a 2005 Thruxton, that was purchased from a elderly rider almost 12 months ago with extremely low kilometres – 580ks. No surprises, this bike ride as expected and comparable to the fuel injected versions that followed. Nice to ride but somewhat limited as far as torque and power.
Due to the kilometres, I can confirm that my bike operated as per factory specs and did not have any power loss due to wear of the carburettors. The bike has slip on Staintunes a filter and I had previously changed the main jets to 127.
I bolted the flat slides on yesterday and with just some minor tweaking at the mixtures was running perfectly in minutes. These have changed the bike dramatically for the positive. Once on the road I have to say I was more than impressed. It pulls from lower revs and has far more torque and power further and wider than ever before. I think the 25% stated in your literature is a very honest and an easily achieved figure with these carbies.
If you want instant easy power improvement on your carburetted Triumph 900, do yourself a favour. these really work very well and bolt on very simply using the factory manifolds and air box.

Have a 06 scrambler that wouldn’t pull the skin off a rice pudding before I bolted up a set of Mikunioz RS 40’s, difference is wild. Before no way in hell would i spin the wheel. Now I am cooking the tyre pulling a mono! I have met a few guys at the lights after lifting up the front wheel on a spirited take off I had them asking me what the f— have you done to your bike to make it go like that. I would highly recommend getting a set these carbs unless you are happy for me to kick your ass hard at the lights.
