This Mikuni TM34 Non Pump type TM Flatslide single carburetor conversion kit is for replacement of the OEM Yamaha twin carbs fitted to XT TT350’s. The TM34 though a budget option carb still delivers great performance improvements over OEM and Mikuni VM carbs, where unfortunately available space doesn’t allow for using a pumper carb. This is an easy solution to non repairable, worn out stock units. These have for decades been the economical replacement performance carb of choice for Honda XR riders who have worn out their OEM carbs or are just over some of their inherent problems. All this means getting the full enjoyment out of your motorcycle has never been so easy, say goodbye to hard starting, hesitations, flat spots and hold on, she’ll pull a lot harder and deliver an overall speed improvement.
We have a pictures for ID of the two frames we now currently build kits for, being the white frame (also pictured in Blue but referred to as WHITE) and the red frame (also pictured in Blue and Black where also sold in silver, but referred to as RED), there are is also a purple frame out there and maybe others but to save confusion we will refer to the two known designs of frame types as either RED or WHITE.
WHITE FRAME FITMENT-
The kit comes with a Mikuni TM34-2 carb, a composite two into one manifold with gaskets and larger OD washers for use with your OEM mounting hardware, heavy duty rubber engine mounting flange with stainless steel clamps, an anodized 50mm diameter air-box adapter fitted to the carb for use with a (not supplied) foam POD or otherwise optional OEM air box blank adapter with connection pipe and clamps, a 1/4 turn quick action throttle and a nylon lined cable with a 90 degree lower fitting which screws directly into the carburetor top for clearance . There are what should be correctly sized jets fitted as well as spares for fine tuning. The carb comes with a rarely ever required knob choke where if in colder climates you find you do need to use the choke and access to the knob is an issue if using a larger than stock tank, we sell separately either a cable choke adapter kit ( MK-412 ) or a complete kit with universal bracket and 310mm long cable ( MK-412-310C ). Air filter options: We have two options where we sell a complete kit with airbox adapter with carb connection pipe (on some air-boxes a slight filing of the back plate boles may be required as we found three slightly different patterns during testing). Option two, we sell as pictured a basic kit, being carb forward only where the carb comes with the same 50mm adapter to which you can arrange yourself a connection back to a POD filter using a rubber tube at the carb (with as small a wall thickness as possible for frame and shock clearance), connected to a short length of 50mm OD exhaust pipe, this pipe will need to have an 18 degree bend in it to get a straight run back to your preferred mounting location for a UNI Filter (or similar) with sock.
RED FRAME FITMENT- (Pictures in the photo library are showing using a black frame)
This frame variant requires removal of some material above the carb for clearance where to best determine and only remove the bare minimum of material, mount the carb to the manifold sliding it up from underneath to check whilst slowly grinding away till satisfied you have a couple of mm clearance. A very small amount of material from the plate on the RH frame upright also needs removing for better clearance for the silicon elbow (you need to purchase elsewhere) to connect back to the air box. This kit comes with a Mikuni TM34-2 carb, a composite two into one manifold with gaskets and larger OD washers for use with your OEM mounting hardware, a straight piece of heavy duty rubber sleeve and clamps, without an internal separator block allowing the carb to sit 4mm closer to the motor. A 46mm diameter air-box adapter for use with a (not supplied) length of 1 3/4″ silicon hose (with 30 degree elbow) back to the supplied air-box RH side adapter, a blanking off disc is supplied for the LH air box port. Two hose clamps are supplied. A 1/4 turn quick action throttle and a nylon lined cable with a 45 degree lower fitting which screws directly into the carburetor top for clearance . Climate, altitude and fuel density from different octane fuels all have varying effects on final fine tuning as does cam, exhaust and cylinder head porting etc. For this reason, besides the set up that should be spot on, we have included spares to allow you to tune to most variables worldwide.
