Air-box Adapter Mikuni Carbs – Reducing 62mm to 55mm, 15mm extension

For Reducing the carb  air-intake outside diameter down to 55mm. This Mikuni Carburetor air-box adapter for is designed for use on our VM36, VM38, TM36-2, TM38-85 and TM38-86 carbs with a slightly larger 62.2mm spigot diameter than our TMX carbs. The adapter is made from silver anodized aluminum with a 2mm wall thickness for strength and rigidity.

This sleeve has a 62.2mm ID at the carburetor spigot with a 15mm extension at 55mm OD.

This sleeve also suits a range of other carbs with a 62mm inlet diameter but we do only guarantee the interference fit to be correct for our TM non-pump Flatslide carbs found on this site. Our TMX35 and TMX 38 flatslide’s have a slightly smaller diameter spigot and will require the use of Loctite 620 and activator or 2 Pack Epoxy for fixing to the carb rather than a regular shaft retaining compound.

This spigot must be installed by a competent person. When fitting the sleeve we recommend the use of a high strength 620 Loctite retaining compound with activator where a loose fit is experienced. The adhesive besides helping bond both items together will fill and seal any imperfections found on some carburetor spigots and also acts a a slight lubricant for the fitment.
