Cable, Mikuni VM & TM carbs Yamaha SR250 Thru SR500

Description

This Mikuni throttle cable is 950mm long (chrome elbow to elbow) and for use on Yamaha SR250 thru SR500 when matching with Mikuni VM carbs ranging from 32mm up to 38mm & all TM non pump Mikuni carburetors 36mm thru to 38mm. The cable comes with a standard Yamaha 8mm diameter  push in top fitting with offset securing plate and a 90 degree lower fitting for screwing directly into the carb top for a low profile attachment and appearance. As the elbow threads directly into the screw on top of the VM carbs, to access the needle for clip adjustments etc, the carb needs to be removed and the whole body spun to undo the carb top. Sometimes this can be avoided by backing the top lock nut right off and allowing the lid to spin up the elbow fitting when winding off the top of the carb.

The exposed inner wire length is matched for use in Mikuni VM carbs using keyhole type cable attachment to the throttle valve. If your motorcycle has an OEM Japanese Motorcycle VM carb version (which normally never run properly on 4 strokes), fitted with a cable holder that is screwed to the slide, this cables use is restricted to carb sizes of 36mm and larger.

These premium grade cables use a Nylon lined outer housing. The Nylon liner inside the outer cable housing conduit is for reduced friction and heat resistance.
