Description

This Mikuni RS34 carburetor Kit suits 1979 thru 1983 Honda CB750, CB900 and CB1100 with stock engines. They will breathe a whole new lease of life into your machine with an up to 25% increase in power, whilst making it perform and operate as it should with no hesitations or flat spots.

You will very quickly realize that the expense of a rebuild of your old worn OEM carbs can far exceed the cost of these new units and unfortunately as with many rebuilds now days you only have the option in many cases of gambling with very poor quality aftermarket parts. Considering this and if intending to ride and enjoy your motorcycle it makes good sense to retire your OEM carbs into the cupboard and step up to a set of RS’s.

Before rushing in and ordering please firstly check your carb spacing and carbie sizes for compatibility. These are not suited for downdraft engines.

This Custom built Mikuni kit suits 1979 thru 1983 models. You outlet diameter at the engine side should be 44mm and 55mm at the air-box side. These carbs are fitted with extender sleeves on the motor side which makes them mimic the dimensions of your OEM carbs allowing for a correct fit into your rubbers and if wanted, the use of the OEM air box. We use a custom made re-spacing kit to match your carb spacing listed below.

A= 80mm (spacing centre to centre between carb 1 & 2)
B= 100mm (carb 2 & 3)
C= 80mm (carb 3 & 4)

Pilot Jet: VM28/486-17.5, Needle: 9DZH1, Needle Jet: P-4 (568 Series), Main Jet: N100.604-120/130

Recommended Options available in the purchase selection drop box: Your stock throttle cables will not match to these carbs, where we have our road bike throttle and cable assembly (KRS-001) or otherwise in the RS accessories page a Quick action 1/4 turn throttle and cable kit (PPQA40K)
You can also select here with the pictured POD filters or again in the accessories page, other POD types or Velocity stacks which have no form of filter in them (15, 30,50 and 75mm long) for racing.

On some kits the idle speed screw will be removed or screwed way in to avoid shipping damage, where please check and set back before starting. On initial start up just feather the throttle and then set the idle speed once the motor is at operating temperature. Jetting is should be pretty much spot or very close out of the box where spare sets of main jets are provided for doing wide open throttle test runs in what ever gear you feel safe doing so, to determine the fastest/best. The idle mixture screws are set around 1/8-1/4 of a turn out and if wanting some more fuel at idle can be taken out to 2 turns. Do be careful when checking for bottom to not over tighten the screws and risk tip jamming and breaking.

The return cable must be set to physically close the throttle valve and hold it closed when the throttle is hard backed off. Where after lubricating the cables as per the instructions, the return is first set to be under load when closed, meaning the cable tight at closed, not the throttle tube resting on the throttle housing stop. Then set the pull cable with a mm or so of free play on hard RH steering lock where with this being the tightest bend application in the cable, the inner wire is sitting at its shortest protrusion.
