Description

THIS KIT INCLUDES:  ONE SET OF MIKUNI RS34 CARBS, 4 x ENGINE MOUNT STUB FLANGES WITH RUBBER BOOTS AND CLAMPS PLUS 4 x POD FILTERS:

These Mikuni RS34-D21-K RS carbs will breath a whole new lease of life into your Kawasaki KZ900 machine with around a 25% increase in power,  whilst making it perform and operate as it should. No more flat spots or hesitations just way more smooth controllable power.

You will very quickly realize that the expense of a rebuild of your old worn OEM Kawasaki KZ900 or KZ1000 carbs can far exceed the cost of these new units and also unfortunately as with many rebuilds now days you only have the option in many cases of gambling with very poor quality aftermarket parts. Considering this and if intending to ride and enjoy your motorcycle it makes good sense to retire your OEM carbs into the cupboard and step up to a set of RS’s.

This Kit is for fitment to Kawasaki KZ900 and early KZ1000 models not requiring our push pull throttle and cable combo, where the stock carbs have a 35mm outside diameter on the motor side outlets which won’t accommodate the 40mm outlets on these Mikuni RS34’s. This Mikuni RS34 Kit includes the bank of 4 Mikuni RS carbs, jetted and ready to ride with usually no tuning at all required, a new push/pull  cable set and throttle, 4 new silver anodized stub flanges to accommodate the larger OD carb outlets (for use with Allen type socket head screws not supplied) including gaskets, rubber boots and clamps. As these carbs also have a larger 55mm inlet diameter (KZ900 models) negating the use of the standard air-box, there’s  4 cloth/paper dry type automotive pod filters included. When installing we always suggest the fitment of new side cover rubbers and as the PODs will fractionally hold out the top front corner  of the Kawasaki KZ900 covers, you must drill a small hole and install split pins through the side cover lugs to guarantee the covers can never pop off. There’s plenty of clearance with the Pods on the 1000’s.

Pilot Jet: VM28/486-17.5, Needle: 9DZH1, Needle Jet: P-4 (568 Series), Main Jet: N100.604-115

Petcock clearance issue: The standard fuel petcock on the early Z900 and Z1000’s can on some models interfere with the top of number one carb where with the M22x1.0 threaded nut type, if you rotate the petcock as per the picture it clears but will restrict you to only having the reserve function. We do also have Hi Flow replacement taps available where you can view by entering “Hi Flow” into the search bar at the top of the main menu. With the later two bolt mounting type an easy solution if required is to replace Suzuki GSX manual or vacuum type petcocks as per the other picture. If having to do this, keep in mind the results far exceed the inconvenience.

IF NOT WANTING TO PURCHASE THE KIT IN ITS ADVERTISED FORM PLEASE FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS BELOW.

If wishing to use your existing Kawasaki cables (if updated to push/pull) or use alternate POD filters or something from our range of velocity stacks, you can purchase the carburetor kit and or what ever other components you want individually by following the directions below.

On the main menu to the left of the page, hover over the carb listing for RS Smoothbore Kits (multi Cylinder) and then select RS carb kits from the drop list (selecting the RS34s pictured on the blue box), then again off the drop list select RS accessories for viewing all other options being Mikuni jets, Mikuni flanges, Mikuni carb tuner kits, Mikuni cables , Mikuni throttles, Mikuni air-cleaners and a range of Mikuni carb to OEM air box adaptors etc to also suit. This also makes alternate jet selection easy for you if you have your own spec as only the type jets for that particular carb are shown.

If you’re comfortable with making a purchase of the carb and or  any other associated components, order it on line or otherwise please call us to further discuss your needs on 0747712677

Fitted these carbs to my Kawasaki z900 A4 (1976). Very easy to fit, all the bits you need. Started up and went for a ride. No adjustments needed. Bike runs so much better than the old originals. I got the quick throttle kit too. Thanks guys for the good service too.

  2. Raff Emlyn- Jones

    Loved the carbies.
I spent about 4 years trying to get the bike to run right. – New electronic ignition, leads , tried 2 sets or original carbies and the bike ran ok but always had issues down low.
Putting on the RS 34 carbies took about 2 hrs – bit tight around the fuel tap, where I rotated it as suggested. but no real issue.
The performance of these is great- runs smoothly and pulls strong up to and well past the red line.
I should have bought these carbies years ago!
