Description

For the Honda CB250 we recommend the VM30 carbs for better torque and performance, though the stock carbs on some 250 twins are a 32mm you must allow for the area taken by the shaft and butterfly in the throat which consequently makes for a much smaller venturi than 32mm, which also has an air flow interruption factor. Going  faster has never been so easy, say goodbye to hard starting, irregular idle, hesitations, and flatspots.

The VM30 Carb Measures 58mm diameter at the air-filter inlet end, 96mm front to back and 40mm diameter at the outlet end.

The Dual Mikuni VM30 carburetor kit is easily fitted to your Honda CB250 and the improvement is instant. This kit includes our shorter 70mm long POD filters, optional CNC machined silver anodised manifolds with heavy duty rubber boots and a nylon lined premium quality throttle cable with 70 degree lower and chrome plated top fitting to suit your OEM throttle housing. The most commonly suited jets for Australian fuel and conditions have been fitted as well as spares for fine tuning the top end at WOT. Climate, altitude and fuel density from different octane fuels all have varying effects on final fine tuning as does cam, exhaust and cylinder head porting etc. Please do contact us if you believe further fine tuning is required and we can guide you through the process. Once tuned a VM Mikuni will not go out of tune for many years.

At Mikunioz, for over 30 years, we have been constantly checking and where necessary upgrading our jetting specs as fuel quality changes. Regular fuel in the USA is 85 octane or 91 in their premium brands which have numerous additives and blends added (basically smells and drys like wood varnish) which results in a totally different jetting spec and product performance. This carb as supplied from the factory will never work on this bike and requires a total re-jet which is done here before shipping.

You will instantly experience better throttle response, improved acceleration, increased horsepower and torque.

Our premium grade cables use a Nylon lined outer housing. The Nylon liner inside the outer cable housing conduit is for reduced friction and heat resistance. They are supplied with shortened 70 degree lower cable end fittings for better petcock clearance, an inline adjuster on the top cable and a chrome OEM type top fitting for attachment to the stock Honda CB throttle housing.

All throttle cables must be lubricated during installation with cable lube or a very light oil such as 3 in 1 to avoid clogging. Besides the need to lubricate the inner wire in the housing, the cable end barrels at their pivot points should be lubricated with water proof grease.
If you need to clean your cable which is particularly relevant for dirt bikes. We recommend using WD40 or a very light oil such as 3 in 1. This effectively washes away dirt from the cable, without clogging it.

If wishing to modify your existing Honda CB250 cables to suit the Mikuni VM 30 or use a different air filter rather than the provided POD Air filter you can purchase the carburetor, tuner jet kit and or what ever other components you want individually by following the directions below.

This also makes alternate jet selection easy for you if you have your own spec or wish to purchase extra jets as only the type of  jets that fit that particular carb are shown.

    After 3 years of fighting with the original Keihin’s on my Honda CB 250 1974 I fit the Mikuni VM 30-Kit: Perfect running with only few adjustments (air screw/needle setting). I’m happy, thanks to Tom for his help
